Kaja's Magic Door piece was inspired by her first surf on a new board. Taking on a new sled quite literally opened a magic door in her surfing... and what did she find behind that door? Good times.
ABOUT KAJA
Kaja's adopted home at the south western tip of Europe has seeped into her artwork since moving from Berlin. The terracotta dirt and dusky winters of Portugal's south combined with a sharp graphic sensibility meld in her images to create a simultaneously original yet nostalgic style. References to Grecian pottery, Arabic architecture and contemporary textile design meld with her love for the ocean, surfing and the natural world.
